Tamara Hutflies M.Sc.
Tamara Hutflies has been a Research Associate in the department since October 2025. She completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at Ulm University and obtained state licensure as a psychotherapist in September 2025 under the reformed Psychotherapists Act (Psychotherapeutengesetz).
Her primary research interest lies in the aetiology, diagnosis, and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military personnel. She has gained substantial clinical experience at the Bundeswehr Hospital Ulm, the University Outpatient Clinic for Psychotherapy at Ulm University, and the District Hospital GĂŒnzburg (Bezirkskrankenhaus GĂŒnzburg).
In 2025, she published on the topic of moral injury in military service members in collaboration with Ulm University, the Bundeswehr Hospital Ulm, and the Bundeswehr Hospital Berlin. She is currently involved in an interdisciplinary research project at Ulm University, presently under ethical review, examining the effects of vagus nerve stimulation and nutrition on thermosensory and risk perception (Nerve & Nutrition).
From autumn 2026, she will undertake advanced training in schema therapy and will expand her work in military psychology by joining the Bundeswehr as a troop psychologist (Truppenpsychologin) in the higher non-technical service.
